Graduationitis

Hey, Seniors, it's May which means that time of year when in addition to seasonal allergies, sunburns, and increased sunlight, comes the arrival of another alarming phenemonea, I like to call graduationitis.

The symptoms are boredom and an inability to stay awake during classes, sometimes characterized by an inability to remain seated for the length of a period, a general disinterest in studies, which in some cases may go as far as a complete aversion to homework. Many students experience an increased appetitie for socializing, hanging around the hallways, and compulsion to discuss prom dresses and escort! Long term effects of graduationitis can be declining academics leading to possible grad ineligibility.

Contrary to popular belief the cure is not increased social time in the parking lot sitting in lawn chairs with gargantuan slurpees, sunglasses, and bathing suits. Neither will leaving your binders in the commons for someone else to pick up lead to increased academic focus! The cure, unfortunately, is remembering to keep your eye on the prize - one more progress report to go before finals. Remember university admissions are conditional to the maintaining grades and students can be removed from the grad list right up until June 23rd.

Hang in there, stay focused, and give these last few weeks your Royal best!
